The main thing we’re looking for is an innovative mind coupled with an outstanding academic record and a wide range of extracurricular interests and achievements. You’ll need a solid honours degree in law and a high proficiency in English – good written Chinese skills are a bonus. If you also have great judgment skills, the ability to communicate in a confident, effective manner and the drive to achieve results, you could be exactly the kind of person we’re looking for.
At Mayer Brown, we value and encourage diversity – It’s critical to our success as an international law firm serving a very diverse client base worldwide. That’s why there isn’t a particular ‘type’ of trainee here – our training pool is representative of our global firm.
To ensure our opportunities are accessible to everyone, we participate in a number of on-campus activities from a diverse range of Universities. We also hosted open days for students from the local district with the aim to attract applications from students of diverse backgrounds and ensure diversity amongst our intern and trainee population. We aim to hire, develop and promote lawyers and are committed to providing them with opportunities to realize their potential regardless of race, religion, beliefs, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, age, disability or sexual orientation.
As a global law firm focusing on a wide range of practice areas, we value an open and inclusive culture. We have employees coming from many different places, backgrounds and cultures as we believe this is the best to develop a person’s potential and hence can better serve our clients.
